D W Longbow Field Archery Club

DW Longbow is primarily a Field Archery Club, that has weekly sessions in Plascrug Leisure Center, to introduce beginners to the sport of archery, and to improve their competence and enjoyment of the sport, with the ultimate aim of enjoying archery in the great outdoors. We have equipment for beginners to use at club nights, with qualified coaches on hand to teach all aspects of safety and bow craft.

The name long bow in our club name is largely historical, and our members shoot many styles of bow including traditional longbow, modern recurve and compound bows, and Asiatic horse bows. Training can be offered to club members in all of these bow disciplines. We offer bespoke group and corporate archery sessions, and these can take place either indoor, or at out woodland range.

We have experience in tutoring archers who are wheelchair users, registered blind, and archers with special needs. We have participated many children’s “have a go” sessions at Plascrug leisure centre as part of their Easter and Summer Sports programmes.
